i am colorblind. red/green to be exact. this has, at times, been a major impediment to my personal and artistic growth. it has made learning and education difficult. a reality of seeing greens, yellows, oranges, reds, and browns as appearing similar, especially in low light. difficulty telling the difference between blues and purples, or pinks and grays, red and black. an inability to coordinate, or even identify, the names of so many of the mixtures and the in-betweens.
and yet this ‘major impediment’, as it turns out, informs my unique perspective on life.
my images are an open and honest expression of who i am. they are an expression of me in process in every moment. trying to live in peace with the fragmented complexities of who i am and what the world is.
a reflection of how I would like to see the world.
